As a teenager, curious is a part of us. We want to learn
a new thing. Somehow, at this moment, friends are the nearest sources to learn
things from. This is because we spend more time with friends than with family. In
my opinion, I agreed that people learn things better from those at their own
level rather than those a higher level.
People will learn things better from those at their own
level because they are in the same situation. They will face the same obstacle
throughout the day. The way that we think and what feel are probably almost the
same. For instance, when I was in the boarding school, I used to learn how to manage
time as I was new to the environment. Indeed, at first my schedule kind of mess
up, with a ton of homeworks and assignments, somehow I got lost. My friends
give me some advice to overcome the problem as they had been through the day. As
the time flies, I managed to sort out my
schedule and use my time well.
People learn things better from peers due to the
languange that they used with each others. That brings the idea to come out
with a program called mentor-mentee. In academic lesson, mentors will teach their
mentee to improve their lesson. As a mentor, we know how to help them because
we know their strengthness and weakness. We know the way to trick their mind.
For example, I used an analogy such as their personal experience to explain any
science theory. From that, they will take less time to understand and memorize
the fact.
In conclusion,
people will learn things better from peers rather than teachers. This is because
based on their observation, their peers seems more rational in giving opinion
or in making decisions.
